Valentine’s Day, please make a mailbox to bring your
cards to school and to take the ones you get home. Everyone’s name is on the reading calendar.
If you are bringing cards, please bring one for every student. I think we are going to dip strawberries,
apples, and bananas in chocolate as a special treat. Great WEBSITE www.kerpoof.com we have been playing with
it at school. It has a chat section
that we don’t work with, and as a grandparent I am not so sure I would let
either of my granddaughters chat. |
Class Reader: Each student gets to share a book with the class, please choose a book
that takes about 5 minutes to read. Make sure they practice the book first,
it is not good if Mrs. Fair or I have to stand with them to tell them words
because the book is too hard for them to read. The key is to practice and to be a fluent
reader (show off how well we read). February
A NOTE ABOUT AR: We have 3 computers to take AR tests on, remember everyone one should take
and pass with at least an 80 at least 2 tests each week. In order to become better readers, we must
practice. I am only interested in kids
reading 2nd and 3rd grade books. I feel the subject matter in some books
that are higher reading levels are just not appropriate for second graders. |

Cooking Class: Some parents were very giving the first semester and sent us about $70
in gift cards for Publix and Wal Mart so I could
purchase food items for our Friday Cooking Classes. I would very much like to continue those
classes with your help. If you can,
please send us a gift card so I can purchase the food items we need and you
won’t have to send in items. We need
paper towels. |
