Reading and Writing Connection

The more students read the better writers they will become and the more they write the better readers they become.  Unless teachers and parents give them opportunities to do both, then how can students be expected to read or write?  Practice makes one better.  Why bother to teach a skill if you are not prepared to let them practice it?
